The firm successfully settled a class action of investors who brought suit against Horry State Bank for failure to make payment to note holders.

This case was particularly complicated and involved expert witnesses and delicate negotiations which lasted over 6 months.

If the case had not been settled Horry State Bank would likely have ceased to exist, about 300 people would have lost their jobs and the investors would have lost everything. The settlement was a victory for all concerned as the bank would have been unable to pay these investors without this settlement.

The circuit court approved the settlement and praised the attorneys for reaching a settlement in a difficult case. The investors are expected to receive about $1.5 million dollars in the payout. The investors should receive their funds by June 1, 2016
